- 16th January 05 - 20 February 05: We arrive to Buenos Aires (Argentina) and from there we fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost
city of the continent, in Patagonia. After spending some days there we go to the impressive Torres del Paine National Park (Chile). We continue our trip
thru Patagonia and visit El Chalten (Argentina), for some trekking around some beautiful mountains.

- 20th February 05 - 2 March 05: We leave Patagonia and head North to the marshes at "Esteros del Iberá" reserve in northern Argentina. There we see lots of animals... first time I see
a crocodile not made of plastic!! And then on to the amazing Iguazu falls, at the border between Argentina and Brazil.

- March 05: We exchange the tropical heat of Iguazu for the highlands of the Argentinian side of the Altiplano: we travel to Salta province, on the northwest of the country,
where we visit the Quebrada de Cafayate. Then we cross to Bolivia...there are so many things to do also in this country! We climb to Chacaltaya (5395m) near La Paz (my altitude record so far!),
we visit the hot water pools of Ojo del Inca and the dinosaur footprints near Sucre...

- March 05: ...then back to the capital La Paz from where we travel towards the jungle and pampa area of Rurrenabaque, passing thru Coroico on our way north. Quite a dangerous
and interesting road!

- 8th-25th April 05: Our last stop in Bolivia is to visit the magical Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun) on Lake Titikaka. This is the place were the Inca Gods
where created! Then we cross to neighbouring Peru, where we travel to Cuzco, the center of the ancient Inca empire. We trek along the Inca Trail to the
fascinating ruins of Machu Picchu. Our last stop in Peru is the impressive Colca canyon, one of the deepest in the World!

- 8th-16th May 05: We travel a couple of thousands of kilometers south along Chile (this is a very long country indeed!) but cross the border with
Argentina for spending a few days in this part of the Andes, visiting the Seven Lakes and Bariloche areas. After exploring Chiloé Island and Puerto Montt,
we head back to Santiago de Chile, from where we'll fly out of South America... WHAT AN INTERESTING CONTINENT!
